A New Chapter Begins

The past two weeks have really shaken me up. It started with my grandmother passing away. I was very close to my grandmother as she played a huge part in raising me. A couple days after her funeral, Todd was hit by a car while he was walking to work. That was the worst phone call I ever received. The fear of losing Todd or not knowing how serious his injury was agonizing. I left work immediately and met him at the ER. Luckily, he is okay. But the day it happened and the days to follow were nerve wrecking as we monitored his pain and how he was feeling. I thank God every day that Todd is okay.

I sit here now typing this entry from my cube, as this will be the last entry I will write on this computer. I was layed off 2 days ago. Today is my last day at LS&CO after 3 years of working here. This did not come as a shock to me as the company, and many others in Retail, are suffering from the economy's current state. These past two days, I've taken time to say my good byes, walk around the area, go to eateries that I know I will probably never return to, and of course, reminiscing about how I met my future husband at the Levi Strauss Cafeteria. My time at Levi's was fruitful and meaningful to my career development. But the most important thing I am walking away with from this company is that I am 9 days away from marrying the love of my life. Though it is a sad day, I am ready to close this chapter in my life and start a new one.

With that, Todd and I are counting down the single digit days to the wedding. 9 Days to go!!! We leave for Hawaii next Wednesday morning. We're really excited! My only hope is that the weather holds up. It's forecasted to rain on our wedding day. Please help us pray for the weather and for safe travels for every one attending the wedding.

This is my last entry as a Levi's employee and as Joyce Jew. The next entry I post will be from Joycee Mamiya. Better days and an exciting unknown future is up ahead. =)

 After working 12-14 hours a day at work, we finally have a little bit of down time... that is until tomorrow. Anyways, I'm enjoying the down time now.

101 days to go...... 

Lots to do, but very excited.

Between me and my mom, Todd catches tid bits of Chinese dramas when he's over. We have to translate, but he gets the gist of what's happening.

Todd: I like this drama.

Me: In this episode, the father suffers a stroke, but wakes up and comes home in time to stop the evil wife from stealing the family fortune.

Todd: I like the guy that plays the father. He's cool.

Me: Oh.... well, the father is going to die in 2 episodes

Todd: WHAT?!?!

Me: Yeah....    And in tomorrow's episode, they're going to kill off the good looking guy.

Todd: WHAT?! That's so cruel!

Me: Yeah....

Todd: I hate Chinese dramas!
